Policy & Government Advocacy
Engaging with government departments to drive systemic change and advance gender diversity through policy reform.

- ▪Contributed to high-level policy consultations with the Department of Home Affairs on the Identity Management Policy and Marriage Amendment Act
- ▪Participated in ongoing processes relating to Legal Gender Recognition
- ▪Worked with the Department of Health on developing gender-affirming healthcare policy
- ▪Served as peer reviewer and advisor for the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society's Gender-Affirming Healthcare Guidelines
- ▪Appointed to the Department of Basic Education's Social Inclusion Working Committee, integrating gender diversity into education policy and practice
Legal & Human Rights
Partnering with legal organisations to expand access to justice and strengthen protections for marginalised groups.
Key Highlights:
- ▪Founding member of the Gender Diversity Coalition, developing coordinated advocacy frameworks and Terms of Reference
- ▪Collaborated with Lawyers for Human Rights, Legal Resources Centre, Women's Legal Centre, and Centre for Applied Legal Studies
- ▪Contributed to the drafting of the Prevention of Hate Crime and Hate Speech Bill (now enacted into law)
- ▪Shaped rights-based policy frameworks to protect gender-diverse communities
International Work
